As President of Morey’s Seafood, I turned to Nancy, an experienced seafood marketer, for flavor recommendations and descriptions for use in product development. I had an immediate need for very specific, targeted recommendations for various fish types. She turned around the project on very short notice, delivering more than I anticipated. Nancy and I worked together at Gorton’s for nearly 15 years. She has all the classical marketing skills: strong strategic thinking, brand development, consumer communication, and packaging and marketing materials design, She has an intuitive feel for food product development and knows what it takes to put together successful new products and aggressively grow existing ones. She was responsible for many successful new product introductions at Gorton’s, most notably Grilled Fillets, arguably the most successful new production introduction in the company’s history.

In my time working with her, Nancy successfully combined her strong drive for results with a comfortable management style that allowed her to work with all types of people (often with varying agendas) and build powerful, high performing teams. She was a key member of my group for many reasons, but most importantly because she delivered superb results – consistently better than plan. Nancy worked for me in my prior job as VP- Marketing at Gorton’s. Nancy was particularly focused in her career in helping Gorton’s get into brand new businesses. She was the manager responsible for the launch of Grilled Fillets, which is still a very significant part of our business over 10 years later. She led the team that pioneered our first entry into the Club store channel, also a significant contributor to our business. In her most recent role, she was responsible for almost single handedly getting an e-commerce/mail order business up and running. Nancy has a broad range of consumer marketing, new product and management experiences that will serve her and her clients well in her own business.
